Aluminium plant to come up in Kangra: CM

Dharamshala Himachal Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal announced on Saturday that an aluminium project would soon be set up in the industrial area of Kangra district under the private sector, at a cost of Rs 500 crore. Dhumal was addressing a public meeting at Ganju-e-da-Bagh near Jwalamukhi, after dedicating the newly-constructed Subzi Mandi to the public.

He also laid the foundation stone of a shopping complex at Jwalamukhi, to be built at a cost of Rs1.4 crore by the nagar panchayat.

Dhumal said strengthening of the rural economy was of utmost importance for the overall development of the country. He said efforts were being made to strengthen the primary sector of agriculture and animal husbandry which had the highest potential to generate self-employment and employment avenues.
