“The secular politics at the Centre will never be possible without the Congress,” SP general secretary Amar Singh said on Monday. Clearly, the SP is batting for the Congress as the pivot for post-poll secular alliance.

“Even the Left-parties, known for their anti-saffron stand, has objections only to the Congress-led government at the Centre but not to the Congress-participated government,” he added.

Singh took a dig at Deve Gowda as he has recently invited BJD to join the secular forces under the third front.

“While the BJD worked closely with the BJP for over a decade, Deve Gowda’s son Kumaraswami ruled Karnataka with the help of the BJP and now the former PM is championing the secular cause when both of them have fallen out with the BJP,” Amar Singh said.
