Pune Around 2.5 lakh students appeared for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams at 446 centres in Pune division on Thursday. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has intensively implemented the ‘copy-free campaign’ for the SSC exams too, but no untoward incident was reported on the first day.

“According to reports I received from the other divisions, the first day was smooth and there were no major complaints,” said Vijaysheela Sardesai, chairman of MSBSHSE.

The board has come out with helplines, 25536712 or 25705316, for students in case of doubts on the timetable, hall tickets or other emergencies. If students get delayed due to any genuine reason, they can call these numbers and the board will arrange an exam at the centre nearest their residence. The students can e-mail their queries or complaints about the exams at secretary@msbshse.ac.in.

Sardesai clarified that the questions in the physics question paper of HSC exams held on Tuesday were according to the syllabus. Some of the students of Class XII and their parents had complained that one question of four marks was out of syllabus. “The board of studies has certified that the question was as per the syllabus and we have sent the instructions regarding this to all the divisions,” she said.
