The fire broke out in the 'S1' sleeper coach of Bilaspur-Amritsar-Chattisgarh Express at 1:25 am when it was about to reach Deoband railway station, and soon spread to other coaches, the officials said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Fire tenders from nearby Muzzafarnagar and Deoband were rushed to the spot, the officials said, adding the flames were put out before it could cause much damage. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Deoband. The affected coaches were detached from the train, which left Deoband at 3.15 am for its onward journey.
