Ananya, Simrandeep achieve top positions in neuroscience quiz contest

Chandigarh, February 2 A quiz contest — Brain Bee Neuroscience — for high school children was conducted by the Department of Neurology, PGIMER, here today.

Seven schools in the city — Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, P M L S D Public School Sec-32, Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, DAV Model School, Sector ¿ 15, Sacred Heart Senior. Secondary School, Sector 26, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 33, Vivek High School, Sector 38, participated in the quiz contest.

The function was presided over by Prof R C Sobti, vice-chancellor, Panjab University, as chief guest and Prof K K Talwar, Director PGIMER as guest of honour.

Ananya Ray, Carmel Convent High School, Sector 9, declared as the Brain Bee Champion, followed by Simrandeep Gill from Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, as first runner-up, and Parul Sarwal from Carmel Convent High School, Secondary 9, as second runner-up. The top two students will participate in final to be held at Hyderabad on March 30 and 31.
