Angry relative attacks CMCH staff, alleges negligence

Ludhiana Protesting over the death of a patient at Christian Medical College and Hospital(CMCH), a relative of the deceased allegedly manhandled the staff members on duty. The incident took place immediately after the doctors at CMCH declared the patient brought dead. The relative of the deceased patient got angry at the hospital staff, blaming them for lack of care. However the hospital administration said the patient was brought dead.

One of the relatives of the patient, Praveen Bala (55), of Sardar Nagar, Basti Jodhewal, who was brought to the hospital in the evening allegedly held Santosh who was on duty at that time around her neck and tried to throttle her. A doctor who tried to rescue her was also manhandled, the hospital administration alleged. “ Dr Suvir who was on duty tried to save her but was also attacked,” alleged deputy medical superintendent Dr VP Singh. The police have registered a case against the accused.
