Anne’s thrash Scottish

Mumbai, January 31 St Anne's girls, after their fine display of football in the under-14 look to win title. They convincingly thrashed Bombay Scottish 2-0. Karika Menezes scored a brace in the St Anne's win. They set to clash with Canossa Convent, Andheri for the title.

In the under-12 third division boys match, luck was with the Dhirubhai Ambani boys as they scored a solitary goal over Cathedral & John Connon to enter the final of the of the MSSA Inter-School football tournament played at Schools Sports Centre, Azad Maidan, here on Thursday.

After a goalless first half, which was totally dominated by Cathedral boys, the tide turned in Dhirbhai Ambani’s favour when in the 33rd minute Sanket Guha’s beautiful lob from outside the box beat the leaping goalkeeper Shivaan Ghai. The Cathedral boys went all out and they did get a couple of chances, but then goalkeeper Hriday Vaswani thwarted all their attempts. Just before the close, Cathedral appeared to find the equalizer when three of their forwards crowded Hriday, yet he managed to foil their attempt. Dhirubhai boys will take on G.D.Somani, who defeated Lilavatibai Podar 2-0, for the title.

In the girls under-12, a hattrick by Aisharwarya Shetty featured in Bombay Scottish (Powai)’s 4-0 win over Udyachal (Vikhroli).
