“Expressions” as the name suggests is a kaleidoscopic mirror of social and individual experiences. It is the manifestation of feelings and emotions in dance, drama and music.
The programme began with Ganesh Vandana and was followed by a song...I have a dream.
The pre-primary students presented a musical “The world of flowers” which transported the audience far away from the mundane life. Classes III-VII presented a dance drama, “The Monkey King” which has been adapted from Jataka tales.
Another attraction of the evening was Navras. Navras as the name suggests refers to nine (nava) emotional states (rasa) that are exhibited during music drama and visual arts, the experience of which brings about a state of transcendental bliss. The nine different states are: love, wrath, disgust, humour, heroism, supernaturalism, pathos, horror and peace.
In his address, Justice Dharmadhikari praised the efforts of the students and the staff in making the annual function of the school a grand success. He said that the school had grown into a global entity in a very short span of time.
The prizes were given away by Dharmadhikari for the inter house competitions for the school session 2007-08. Dhruva House bagged the over all trophy. The headmistress presented the annual report of the school session 2007-08. The principal gave a vote of thanks.
