Ludhiana Tehbazari team of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation once again faced protests after it removed illegal encroachments in Field Ganj market on Tuesday.

Within a few minutes of the Tehbazari team removing the articles displayed outside the shops, a large number of shopkeepers gathered and gheraoed the team. They even did not allow the team to take away the trucks in which the rehris, goods etc had been loaded loaded.

It is for the second time during the last three days that team has faced the ire of the shopkeepers of Field Ganj market during anti-encroachment operation. On Saturday, the members of the Field Ganj Market Association had even threatened the team. Surprisingly despite the last episode, the team was not accompanied by much police force this time to handle the crisis.

Joint commissioner Mohinder Pal too came after the episode and police team also came when shopkeepers had gheraoed the team. The team finally went away from Field Ganj market along with the stuff which they had seized. A few shopkeepers alleged that Tehbazari team had taken away goods from inside their shops apart from what was displayed outside.

The Tehbazari team also went to markets at Kalgidhar Gurdwara road, Kreempura bazar and Jail road. Shopkeepers there however removed a few temporary encroachments on their own before the arrival of the team while warning was given to the rest shopkeepers.
