Enforcement Wing of Estate Office led by Chief Enforcement Inspector Ashok Kumar reached at Bapudham colony around 10 am to remove the encroachment made on the government land.

On seeing four earthmovers and heavy deployment of police force, around 200 residents of the colony started shouting slogans to oppose the drive.

As the large number of police personnel accompanied the demolition team, the protest was soon controlled and the demolition team removed around 145 illegal structures from the spot.

According to Estate Office sources, four months back all these structures were removed from the government land but the residents again raised these structures, which included one room, kitchen and toilets. After noticing this, the enforcement staff of Estate Office today launched the demolition drive which continued till 2 pm.
