Architects’ body to be involved in city planning, says Bhandari

Ludhiana, February 3 The first newsletter of the Ludhiana Architects Association (LAA) was launched today by Prof Rajinder Bhandari, president of the Punjab BJP, who was the chief guest at at a function attended by leading qualified architects of Punjab and Chandigarh. Prof Rajinder Bhandari said he was happy to be among the leading architects and town planners and felt that there is immediate need of an open dialogue between the practising architects’ association and local governmewnt departments for the betterment of cities on a long-term planning front including roads, flyovers, water supply, sewerage, reduction in pollution and traffic jams and creating more greenery for a healthier life.

The chief guest lit the lamp and then released the much-awaited newsletter of the LAA. The aim of the quarterly newsletter is to collect the day to day memories of architects activities of the region and then share it not among architects but with others construction professionals, builders, contractors, manufactures , companies, corporate houses, government building departments and the public. Ravinder Khosla, president of the association, welcomed the chief guest on behalf of the architect fraternity and explained the past achievements of the LAA and its future plans.
