Armed robbers loot Rs 3 lakh, jewellery in Ashok Vihar

New Delhi Four assailants barged into the house of a businessman and decamped with cash and jewellery worth several lakh in Ashok Vihar area of Northwest district on Friday.

Police said that the incident was reported on Friday afternoon in the house Shailesh Gupta, 35, who owns a mobile accessories shop in Karol Bagh.

N S Bundela, DCP Northwest said, “We received a call from the businessman about the loot in his residence at Ashok Vihar Phase I.

A police team reached the spot and confirmed that a chain had been snatched by unknown assailants from his wife’s neck.

Gupta was also beaten up by the robbers.”

Gupta, his two school children, wife and domestic help were in the house at the time of the incident.

The family said that the robbers took away Rs 3 lakh in cash from the house.

Eyewitnesses said the assailants fled the scene in a red Santro car.
