Patiala The Indian Army is ready for any offensive against anti-national forces within and outside the country.

This was stated by Lt Gen JP Singh, General Officer Commanding 2 Corps, while inaugurating the Army Day celebrations here today. He also inaugurated an exhibition to showcase the glory of the Indian Army, and to attract the youth to the forces.

Urging the youth to join the Army, he highlighted that women officers can now work for 10 to 13 years, against five years earlier. He admitted that there was shortage of officers in the Army, and steps were being taken to attract the youth. A large number of schoolchildren and city residents took rides on the Army vehicles, which were showcased at the exhibition. The exhibition will remain open for a week.
