Kolkata Ningthoujam Tomba alias Koireng, the military chief of Manipur’s outlawed Kanglei Yawol Kunna Lup who was arrested along with three women from Matigara in Siliguri, had visited three foreign countries this year for collecting funds to prepare its base in Bengal and spread the network of the outlawed outfit in several other places in the country. This was revealed during Tomba’s interrogation.

From these three countries — Malayasia, Myanmar and Nepal — the banned outfit received funds worth several crore. “We have seized two laptops from him. Our technical teams have started working to extract data from the laptops,” said D P Singh, SP (Darjeeling).

According to sources, the laptops contain several important documents about the links of the terror outfit, including the names of the international and national contacts of the outfit.

“During interrogation, Tomba has revealed the names of two other senior leaders of the banned outfit. We have started conducting raids in several areas,” said Singh.
