Speaking on the event, Kaur said Dr Randhawa always considered the university his second home.
In another event, meanwhile, a commemorative book titled Mohinder Singh Randhawa: Maker of Modern Punjab, was also released. The 154-page book is divided into 29 chapters contributed by 26 authors in addition to 32 excerpts on Dr Randhawa and 48 photographs showing different facets of Dr Randhawa.
Dr Dhiman said the book is available for sale across various book counters of the university. The first copy of the book was presented to Iqbal Kaur Randhawa.
Those present on the occasion included Professor N S Tasneem, Dr Ranjit Singh, Dr Maan Singh Toor, Jasmer Singh Dhatt, Gurbachan Singh Thind, Pargat Singh Grewal, T P S Sandhu, Kanwaljit Shankar, J N Mehta, among others.
Flower show concludes
The two-day Dr M S Randhawa flower show and competition concluded at the Punjab Agricultural University on Thursday. Iqbal Kaur Randhawa, wife of Dr Randhawa, was the chief guest on the concluding day of the event. She said: “Flowers were very dear to Dr Randhawa and he adored nature.” Dr Ramesh Kumar, head, Department of Landscaping and Floriculture, said the PAU has contributed tremendously in developing a huge variety of flowers and generating technology for their growth.
