Lucknow, October 11 Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Saturday blamed the Congress-led UPA government for failing to curb the growing incidents of terror attacks. He also held the Centre for failing to effectively tackle the ongoing global financial crisis.

Jaitley, who was in the state capital to attend a function organised by his party to commemorate the birth anniversary of Jai Prakash Narain, said the failure of the UPA government has caused a sense of insecurity among the people in the country. “We have effectively taken lead to raise questions like rising inflation, terrorism, corruption, the Ganga expressway and Bundelkhand, which have been affecting the lives of the people,” he said.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leaders termed the firing incident in Shrawasti “inhuman and state-supported terrorism”. The state unit of the BJP has formed a three-member committee to probe the incident.
