Arvinda, Chandrahas hog limelight

Lucknow Arvinda Rathwa of Punjab Police hogged the limelight on third day of the 57th All India Police Athletics Championship by establishing a new meet record in the 100m hurdles event with a timing of 14.28 seconds at the athletic stadium of 35th Bn PAC, here. The old mark of 14.21 seconds established in 2004 belonged to Aneesa K Vijayan of CRPF. Chandrahas Kushwaha of Uttar Pradesh Police bagged the top hours in the decathlon event.

The Results:

10km walk (women): 1st L Sarada Devi (CRPF), 2nd Sandhya (CRPF), 3rd Gaurav Kumar (CRPF);

110m hurdles (men): 1st Navnidh Singh (BSF), 2nd Gurpreet Singh Jr (Punjab), 3rd Amandeep Singh Jr (Punjab);

100m hurdles (women): 1st Arvinda Rathwa (Punjab; 14.28 NMR), 2nd Kulwinder Kaur (Punjab), 3rd Tulsi Deshmukh (West Bengal);

1500m run (men): 1st Nirvair Singh (CRPF), 2nd Ravindra Rautela (Uttarakhand), 3rd TM Sanjeev (CRPF);

Long jump (women): 1st Ashina K Vijayan (CRPF), 2nd Rakhi Tomar (UP), 3rd Nabanita Ghosh (West Bengal);

High jump (men): 1st Ajay Pal Singh (Punjab), 2nd Ajit Singh (Punjab), 3rd Anoop (BSF);

10,000m run (men): 1st Ajay Kumar Patel (UP), 2nd B Madhusudan (CRPF), 3rd Jagmal Singh (BSF);

Javelin throw (men): 1st Harminder Singh (Punjab), 2nd Deepak (UP), 3rd Avtar Singh (Punjab);

Decathlon (men): 1st Chandrahas Kushwaha (UP), 2nd Bhupinder Singh (BSF), 3rd Harinder Singh (Punjab).
