As city prepares for V-Day, NGO asks people to love the needy

Ludhiana With city restaurants, hotels and gift shops making last-minute preparations for Valentine’s Day, the countdown has begun. Gift shops across the city have been decorated with buntings, roses of various hues, teddy bears and other gift items.

The residents, meanwhile, plan to celebrate the occasion in their own fashion.

Harpreet Singh, a resident said: “As I am at work throughout the week, I do not get time to spend with my wife. This Valentine’s Day, I will take her out for a candle-light dinner.”

A group of three friends, Minni, Ajit and Jyoti, meanwhile, have planned a party for their spouses. One of them said: “It will be a surprise for our spouses.”

Sheena Arora, a working woman said: “In a move to reinforce my faith in love and humanity, I will call up all those who are close to me and express my love.”

Sanjeev Dhir, another resident said: “I will celebrate Valentine’s Day with getting marries as my wedding is scheduled on February 14. A wedding is indeed a memorable occasion, and all my friends and relatives will remember my wedding day now.” Many youngsters too, have planned for the day in advance. A group of boys said: “We will have fun with our friends. We will dance and dine together and wish each other.”

Rinki Kahlon, owner of Colonel Cabin, Wildshot said: “There is a different atmosphere in the city on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Every year, old couples come here and enjoy. Sometimes, they also get their tables booked in advance.”

Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, a Non-Government Organisation, however, does not approve the way some youngsters celebrate the occasion.

Satnam Singh Saloopuri, director, Youth Services, said: “Sometimes, youngsters express their love in an inappropriate manner, which is not right.” He added that the NGO will celebrate this occasion at the Bal Bhawan with children who are hearing impaired.

He added: “We appeal to the public to celebrate Valentine’s Day by loving the needy, the physically and the mentally challenged people.”

everyone said about love but no body help those people who in love no body help him no body knows what type of difficulties in love what happened with that couple who in love their are so many problem with him religion,money,job,rich,poor. etc............... anybody help those couple i think no one help him.
