Pachpande in his inaugural speech emphasised the need for participation in the events and playing the game in good spirits. Prof S B Mathur stressed on the need to learn and practice group dynamics by participating in various events.
The opening day saw events like mad-ads, antakshari and dance competition. More than 20 colleges participated in each event. The mad-ads had innovative products like dark and ugly cream and complaint TV displayed by various colleges. Antakshri was a tough competition with as many as 20 colleges vying for the top prize. Dances included solo, group performances by different colleges like IBMR, Garware and D Y Patil.
IBMR, DY Patil , CMRD and Modern colleges won the top prize for mad-ads, antakshari, solo dance and group dance respectively. A special performance showing the national integration and tradition of India was performed by the Sky Lark group. The show concluded with a solid performance by ABBEY-the POP Singer.
The second day of Insignia saw events like vocals, street plays and fashion show. The famous director and script writer Milind Shintre was the judge for street-play. He has written scripts for Marathi cinema.
Colleges showed great enthusiasm in participating for these events. Street play, vocals (solo+ group) and fashion show contests were won by IBMR and CMRD . The Insignia Rolling trophy 2008 was won by IBMR College. The Indian Idol participant, Nikki, also enthralled the audience with her sensuous voice.
A fabulous dance was performed by Rashmi Patil. The 3rd day of Insignia saw, Vishal, the fire man, performed great stunts with fire.
Also, the highlight of the evening was an amazing comedy performance by an artiste who could talk in 51 voices of different actors. “The event held at ASM's IBMR campus in Chinchwad was a roaring success,” said a press note.
