New Delhi Aspiring filmmakers got an opportunity to showcase their talent at an international film festival at the Indraprastha College for Women that concluded on Saturday. Mass Communication students from different institutes of India came up with short films on social issues ranging from rag-picking to hunger.

The college screened around 12 films of 10 to 50 minutes duration. Sweksha Bhagat, an ex-student of IP College, presented a short film titled “Vikhre Shankh” that expressed the dilemma of choosing between the real world and that of art and poetry.

The festival called MISE-EN-SCENE, held by the Department of Mass Media and Mass Communication, was conceptualised to give a platform to budding filmmakers.

Suma Josson (documentary filmmaker), Roopesh Rai Sikand and Sameera Jain (filmmaker) and Yashika Dhillon (assistant director, Aap Ka Suroor, shared their ideas.
