Allahabad, January 11 In the wake of recent terror attacks in Uttar Pradesh, the state administration has directed the Allahabad district officials to ensure a foolproof security arrangement at the Sangam site during the one month-long Magh mela from January 14.

Special teams of the Special Operation Group and Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) will be deployed at the Sangam site where two crore devotees are expected to visit this year.

The state police chief, Vikram Singh today visited the Sangam site and held a meeting with senior officials of the district. He directed them to ensure security arrangement on the lines of the Ardh Kumbh Mela, which was held here last year and in which over 10 crore devotees had visited the confluence of three rivers- Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati.
