Ludhiana In order to facilitate thousands of residents, the district administration will soon start facility for attestation of affidavits at all the sub-registrar offices of Ludhiana. This was announced by deputy commissioner Vikas Garg on Thursday evening.

Garg said, “Till now, all those who get their land registries done have to go for affidavit attestation to mini-secretariat which wastes their time. Hence to create a facility soon we will be opening the attestation counters at the sub-registrar’s office. We are looking for a space where these counters can be set up.”

However the facility will continue to exist in mini-secretariat as well, he informed.

Apart from this, even the learner’s driving license can now be made from Suvidha centre which will reduce the hassle of the applicants, he said.

Garg said, “This facility has already been started and soon, regular license will also be made from the Suvidha centres. This will also help in bringing down the rush at DTO office. We also have a plan to issue birth and death certificates from Suvidha centres in next phase.”

The DC however expressed his satisfaction over functioning of the Suvidha centres. At the moment, more than 45 services are being handled by the Suvidha centre staff, including arms license and passport application.
