Vadodara Following detection of the first Hepatitis B case in Dahod, the district authorities are now on a state of alert.

The doctors have been told to test every patient for Hepatitis B. Meanwhile, a survey is being conducted in the nearby areas.

Incidentally, the health authorities are still clueless as to how the Dahod case occurred.

“This is the only case that has been detected in the district. We are yet to find the root cause of the incident. But no other case has been discovered in the district,” said Dahod District Collector R M Jadhav.

He added, “The surveys and inspections are being done by the local doctors of the district.”

A resident of Sukhsar village, Sukradevi Sisoli (55), was diagnosed with Hepatitis B on Sunday. Sisoli was earlier being treated for jaundice for over a week. So far, the health authorities have not yet considered an outbreak of the virus in the district.
