Vadodara The members of the Vadodara Initiative in association with the city's traffic police and Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) started an awareness on Friday, to ease the city's traffic and promote its cultural landscape.

The campaign aims to promote the ‘Right Side First’ rule for the vehicular traffic. According to the Traffic Advisor for Traffic Education Trust, Ajitsinh Gaekwad, it has become important for the commuters to know the traffic rules because of the rise in the number of vehicles in the city and the pitiable condition of roads.

“The one basic rule is to allow the traffic on the right side to pass. If everyone follows this rule, there

will be a drastic drop in the number of accidents in city areas,” said Gaekwad.

Over the next two days, Vadodara Initiative, through various awareness campaigns will be educating the commuters by putting up posters and placards at various traffic islands.

On Saturday and Sunday, artists from Kevadia along with the artists from West Bengal, Assam, and France will perform in an open festival at Sayaji Baugh Amphitheatre inside Kamatibaugh.

“This open festival in Vadodara will bring out the talent in the country and the world,” said a member of the Vadodara Initiative, Tejal Amin.
