"Be loyal to the country where you live. In Rome, be a Roman", Thackeray said in an interview to Sena mouthpiece Saamana.
"It is not proper for Indians to agitate in Malaysia. This applies to the pro-Pak Muslims in India as well", he said.
Thackeray reiterated that a permit system be introduced in Mumbai to control influx of migrants.
"I know the Constitution grants freedom to move and settle in any part of the country, but the same Constitution also says that the person should not create any nuisance for the local citizens," he said.

They are just asking for basic human rights not the whole country.Yes they were loyal for 50 years but at last what happened,after so many memorandum, cry and peaceful demonstration five malaysian lndian were arrested under ISA.Mr Bal please dont forget Malaysian Indian were originated from native India.Malaysians lndian are peace lovers but to save guard their interest, they have to protest. In Malaysia, government policy was, either convert to islam or do not cry when there is is low level ethnic cleansing. This is typical of any stupid islamic fundamentalist regime but Malaysians implementing slowly. International community must suspend Malaysia from Commonwealth.

Mr Thackeray should study the history of Malaysia and the Malaysian Indians before making such stupid comments. The Malaysian Indians have not come to Malaysia 10 or 20 years back. The current generations of Indians in Malaysia are 4th to 5th generations here. Most of them have no connections with the land of origin of their ancestors, ie, India. Majority of them have no relatives in India, they have not even been to India. The Indians have struggled for the Indipendence of the then Malaya as much as, if not less, other races. Their contribution to the economic growth of the country can not be measured. A mojority of them struggled in rubber estates which was one of the main source of income for the country. In the end what they have got? The poor Indians are denied their rights everywhere. Temples are demolished according to the authorities whim and will. The end result is that more and more Indian youths have gone into crime and gangsterism. So, please Mr Thakkarey, do no make comments, if you are not aware of the history.

there is diffrence between respecting the constitution and discriminations. i know that india has never made discrimination against muslims. in fact we are given more freedom then other country. but i we take more freedom than muslims then it is discrimination. and that is what the indians of malaysia are complining about. For any one who had any doubt, this proves that Bala saheb is a nationalist and has nothing against Indian Muslims who are patriotic and law abiding.Some people take umbrage to his sayings' but what he says is true and to the point and not pandering or pleasing anyone who does not deserve it.
Not so long ago, Malaysian Indians looked down upon Indians. Can anyone remember beating up of Indian software programmers, their detention etc? Malaysian Indians want India's support as India is today in a position to influence Malaysia, but then the question is, should we interfere in the internal affairs of a nation when we ourselves do not tolerate. I presume No. Malaysian Indians should sort out their issues on themselves, just as Indians have done so in other parts of the world.
So stupid. This does not mean that one should keep quite and take on discrimination since you are minority.
Indians must boycott Malaysia as Tourist place. Govt of India must issue travel advertisement warning saying Malaysia is not safe for visit. In 2007, Indian tourists spend over 25 million US dollars in Malaysia. Over two million Indians visit Malaysia every year. All self-respected Bharatiya and Hindus must boycott Malaysia. We need to act, not merely talk.
