"No programme like UP Day, which shows North Indians poltical goondaism will be allowed to take place here. We will first request them with folded hands. If that did not work, we will face them with open hands", Thackeray said in an interview to Marathi weekly Lokprabha.
Raj said he did not subscribe to the view that his party's anti-North Indians campaign was unconstitutional.
"One must abide by the basic principles of Constitution. But its intricacies keep changing. Don't we amend the Constitution?" Thackeray said.
"Today's issues were non-existent when the Constitution was drafted. The situation has changed now," he said.
Justifying his objection to influx of migrants into Mumbai, Raj said "am I the only one who has this grievance? Sheila Dixit, Prabha Rau said the same thing (recently). Similar sentiments are expressed in Assam."
"Hasn't somebody said that every generation has its constitution?" Raj added, referring to Thomas Jefferson's quote.
As to resorting to MNS workers indulging in violence and the law and order situation arising out of it, Raj said, "we had to take to the street so that North Indians did not damage the law and order situation permanently. Even Gandhi, Bhagat Singh had to break the law".

In a multicultural nation like India, preservation of a indigenous culture is essential for the natives. Thakery is not wrong in protesting encroachment by others who will wipe out Maharashtra in matter of few decades if cultural invasion is not reversed. However Thakery is politically foolish in using laws of the jungle to draw attention to the grievances of the locals. If constitution has to be invoked then the playing fields should be made equal. Newcomers must adopt and assimilate to increase the survivability of that culture instead of wiping it out like a parasite plant does to a tree. If the Colonization intentions are the mindset of Bihar and other state governments then backlash is inevitable. Central Government must take notice and prevent colonization by one set of people. Already Assam and other states have reacted against Bengali invasion. This will weaken India more than Pakistan could do. This is a serious issue and not just a political ploy. Biharis or for that matter anyone else, should try Punjab or South Indian States. One doesn't get to see a Bihari milking a buffalo in Chennai. Maharashtrian generosity has to come to an end sooner or later.
You are partially right. But definitely wrong about Maharashtrian generosity as the natives do not directly invite migrants but they come on their own accord due better emeployment and business opportunities. These have been created by not just natives but by large help from Central government and it's policies, intertste and international migrants like Ambani and Tata. Yes, there has to be level playing field. Whenever new opportunities are being created by the above players - we as citizens of India should give an un biased view as to where opportunities are created. If there is law and order problem in any part of India - then others should jump in to do what ever they can. Even voicing opinion in forums like these can do some good. And yes I agree that when people migrate they should respect local customs - and as first step try to learn and appreciate those. But by the same token the natives can learn and appreciate the culture of the migrants and therby enrich each other. If nither the migrant or the native act with selfish interest instead of all this negative spiral - you will find a very positive harmony.

Why don't you work hard in your own state and make it prosperous. Why to go to other states and put your life in danger. The reason for movement is that people are allowed by law to migrate. And how are going to maintain people in the same place they were born. By your logic all your previous generations have remained in the place they were born. The states were made to bring people of same language to be together to ease governance not to resrict movement. Any way can we ensure that we will be born in our native state after our death and even can you ensure you can remain in your native state for ever and never cross the state or national boundary. Persnally Mr. Roshan - If you did that - it is possible that your full potential will remain locked for this lifetime and you would not become great the way you can. Mr. Raj Thackeray makes Aurangazeb look like Mahatma, by comparison. Aurangazeb did not kill or kick Hindus out of his kingdom, but only levied extra tax on them. He had even abducted the son of Shivaji to make him his heir. May be he was a better ruler than Indian history portrays him. Some of the present Hindu leaders in Maharastra seem to be much less tolerant of Hindus than the so called 'worst' Moghul Emperor.
Raj, Bal and Uddhav are modern day great maratha warriors and represents pure marathi blood. They represent real maharashtrains and its great culture.
