Kolkata, February 28: The much-awaited CBI report on the mysterious death of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rehman said that he had committed suicide and recommended action against senior police officers, including the then Kolkata police commissioner Prasun Mukherjee in that connection.

The main points of the report was made public by Justice Dipankar Dutta of Calcutta High Court, which had ordered the Central agency to investigate the cause of the death of the computer teacher who had married Priyanka Todi, daughter of an industrialist and thus put to rest the controversy as to whether it was a murder or a suicide.

The report recommended departmental action against the former police commissioner, who is at present the ADG (Telecom) with the West Bengal police, while asking for major disciplinary action against the then DCP (headquarter) Gyanwant Singh and some officers of Karaya police station.

The CBI also sought permission to file chargesheet against the then Deputy Commissioner (Detective Department) Ajoy Kumar and two officers of his department alongwith Priyanka's father Ashok Todi, uncle Pradip and maternal uncle Anil Saraogi and Mohiuddin alias Pappu for abetment to suicide, criminal intimidation and conspiracy.

Rizwanur, whose body was found beside railway tracks a month after his marriage to Priyanka, had allegedly been intimidated by senior police officers of Kolkata police at its Lalbazar headquarters a few days before his death at the behest of her relatives.

The death of the youth from a modest background following his marriage to the daughter of a rich industrialist had snowballed into a public outcry and resulted in the shunting out of the three IPS officers -- Prasun Mukherjee, Gyanwant Singh and Ajoy Kumar.

Intercaste Marriage by Indian Muslim on 28 Feb 2008

This is become a commonplace. The Muslim boy marries a hindu girl. The Hindu father of the girl kills the boy and then with the help of the Hindu police force and CBI hush up the case and close the file declaring the boy has committed suicide. The Hindus are an intolerant community and cannot digest that their womens are marrying the Muslims in India. The RSS masters has inculcate hatred and jealously among the Hindu community preaching them not to allow their women to marry the Muslims in India. Some time back RSS has distributed a pamplets asking Hindus not to allow their women to marry muslims but at the same time to lure muslim women to marry hindus men. The police also do not take any action when the parents of muslim girl lodge a complain against the hindu boy for marrying their muslim daughter. There is a total communalization and polarization of the communities in India. The Hindus of India has become totally corrupted and cycnical community in India. According to them they are superior community and all other commuities specially Muslims are second grade and outcastes in India.

Actually, truth is: it happens the other way round. Your mullah masters have told you otherwise but when did you least hear of a muslim guy marrying a hindu girl and getting killed. You'd say that it is because media is also hindu - but hey - these assumptions are fase. Media, police, politicians are all sold out to arabia - they won't say a thing when muslims torture hindus. They pick up stories only when a muslim weakling like rizwan dies.By the way, when did you last hear a muslim girl marrying a hindu guy? It almost never happens and that proves that you muslims (and not hindus) are communal. We hindus respect all communities and basically do not act like hindus, etc. Corruption - yes, but then since we are 80% hindus in this country, corruption is anyway affecting hindus only, right? So, corruption is again secular. Basically, we hindus are secular to an altruistic level which you guys want to take advantage of.Just about everything you wrote was a life and complete 'just opposition' of facts.

Alas... by Anonymous on 28 Feb 2008

Alas...secularists of this misguided nation pinned great hopes on CBI to fail in their job!

Would a Hindu , got the same judicial process? by DILIP/FRANCE on 28 Feb 2008

This CBI investigation was unnecessary, was unwarrented and utter waste of Taxpayers monies, and my money. This charade was enactedunder the compulsion of Political correctness and the umbrella of pseudo secularism. You did not had to be rocket scientists or a canny police investigator, to have fittered away all these time and money, to come to this obvious conclusion. There was enough evidence on the wall, to have concluded, that this was a lovers tiff and the looser committed suicid, simple as that. Then why did the liberals and the bleating hearts, whipp up such media frenzy and vendettaagainst the girl's family? Now that the truth is in the public domain, muslims in India, must take this on the chin and move on, and avoid mischief making and communal carnage and mayhem. As to those communist muppets and the holier than thou W.B.Judiciary,owe a lot of explanation to the tax payers, for wasting their monies, for a namby pamby non issue. Finally I would ask thses buffons,if the shoe was on the other foot,(hindu rather tahn a muslim),would the bleating hearts instituted the same procedures???,I have my doubts? All we are asking is a level palying fields for the Hindu?Sikhs, and not pander shamelessly.
