Not at all. That’s an original film and I don’t have any plans of expanding the story further.
What about making an animated version of Heyy Babyy?
Sajid Nadiadwala and I have plans. Talks are on with a Hollywood studio. We are looking for the right animators. It would be a series of episodes that would run on the television channel. The story would be around adventures of three fathers and a child.
So any plans of making a movie with Nadiadwala?
Yes, we both will be doing a Rs 55-crore film which will have Akshay Kumar as the lead hero and three heroines. The movie is going to be shot in New York, India and two other foreign countries.
Is it going to be another dramatic comedy like Heyy Babyy?
No. This is going to a total time-pass romantic and comedy flick but the role of Akshay (Kumar) will connect with the mass. I am 100 per cent sure that it will be a bigger hit.
Many upcoming filmmakers always hope their films are a hit before their release. Must say you are very optimistic.
Let me put it as ‘I am not modest but I am honest’. I am in constant touch with my audience and I know what they like. The story should have a great beginning and an excellent ending. I am a complete movie buff and know in and out of the industry.
People felt that it was good luck when Heyy Babyy was a hit but I knew before hand itself it would win the hearts of the mass.
Any plans of having Shah Rukh Khan in any of your projects?
It’s a dream for any filmmaker to work with him. I hope too to be associated with him one day.
How are you feeling as a would-be uncle? What are your plans?
I am very excited. I have told Farah that they are like my kids and I will be baby-sitting the triplets. I love to be in the company of kids. But when it comes to naming them, I leave it to the parents to decide.
So is your next movie also going to revolve around kids?
Not really. The centre point of the story won’t be around kids but there might be some scenes with children.
You seem to be on a fitness spree these days.
Yes. I realised that as a filmmaker, apart from having a good sense of humour, I also need to look good. And SRK has influenced me a lot.
Is Sajid Khan a funny man in real life too?
No, I’m an introvert and a homely person. But you see a different persona on stage as they pay me.
Marriage on the cards?
I am seeing someone but do not wish to talk about it.
