Mullanpur Congress leaders today put up a united front at a meeting of workers at the Mullanpur grain market. At the meet, organised by AICC spokesperson Manish Tewari, the leaders blew the bugle for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Launching a frontal attack on the SAD-BJP government, top Congress leaders — former CM Captain Amarinder Singh and Manish Tewari — expressed concern over the ‘capture’ of cable television network across the state by the ruling alliance.

Captain Amarinder Singh, said Badal’s desire for money knows no end. He added that the family had grabbed everything — the sand contract, liquor contract, transport permits and cable services — in the state.

He further said that while the Badals were trying to build a family estate, senior Akali leaders within the party were feeling suffocated. All the speakers lashed out at the government for victimising the Congress workers and indulging in nepotism and corruption.

Rajinder Kaur Bhattal also lashed out at the Akalis for their failure in providing good governance.

PCC president Mohinder Singh Kaypee, made an appeal to the people to ensure that the Congress wins the elections.

Legislators Tej Parkash Singh, Jassi Khangura, Gurdeep Singh Bhaini, Harmohinder Singh, Isher Singh, Darshan Singh Brar, former ministers Harnam Dass Johar, Rakesh Pandey, Milkiat Singh Dakha, Milkiat Singh Birmi, Surinder Dawer, Punjab Youth Congress president, Ravneet Singh Bittu were present on the occasion.
