Bag containing Rs 3 lakh stolen in Panchkula

Panchkula Two unidentified men snatched a bag containing Rs 3 lakh in broad daylight from Sector 9 on Saturday. Prabha Bhalla, a 60-year-old resident of Sector 4, was on her way to the bank along with her son-in-law Vivek Mahender to deposit the amount when the incident took place.

“Bhalla first went to the ICICI Bank in Sector 11 to deposit Rs 45, 000. They were on their way to the Sector 9 bank on a rickshaw to deposit the rest of the amount when the two men snatched the bag,” said a police officer. Though the police set up checkposts across the city, the accused could not be nabbed.

SP Amitabh Dhillon, who took charge today and DSP Rajender Kalia also reached the spot. The police have registered a case under Section 356, 379 of the IPC and are investigating further.
