Mumbai The ambitious and much-looked-forward-to Bandra-Worli Sea Link , finally, will be ready in 2009. Though the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) maintains that the inauguration would be done by the end of January, sources in the agency say the opening of what will be Mumbai’s most iconic road could be delayed until March this year.

Of the eight lanes of this 5.6 km sea link, four lanes will be opened to traffic this year, while the remaining four lanes would be opened by July.

The sea link which would connect Bandra to Worli would also improve the city’s traffic scenario by cutting down on travel time and provide relief to suburbs like Dadar, Mahim, Worli and Prabhadevi.
