Bank employees to go on strike today

Patiala With the failure of the talk between SBI and State Sector Bank Employees Association (SSBEA) on February 14, more than 50,000 bank employees will go on a full day strike on Tuesday (February 17).

Staff of State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Bikaner, Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of Mysore and State Bank of Indore, will participate in the strike as they are members of SSBEA.

General Secretary of the SSBEA, N K Gaur said, “The employees of these banks are demanding that the benefits— including loans and reduction in rate of interest— which have been given to the employees of State Bank of India (SBI) around one and half years ago, be extended to them as well.”
