Banks hold cultural meet

Chandigarh, February 16 Oriental Bank of Commerce organised a joint cultural programme of all banks in the auditorium of Moti Ram Arya School today. A large number of artistes, senior officers, employees of public sector banks and financial institutions of the city and their families attended the cultural programme.

The member secretary of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) Sham Lal Mehta briefed the audience on the activities and achievements of the committee in promoting Hindi in the member banks in the city. He said TOLIC is one of the best institutions of its kind in the country, which has been at the pinnacle continuously for 17 years in the Regional Rajbhasha Shield Award scheme of the Government of India.

The cultural wheel was set in motion with Eish Vandana, a solo dance performance by Ankita Sharma of State Bank of Patiala.

It was followed by a solo performance by Anurag Kanaujia of Indian Bank, Bhangra by Vakil Chand, Ramesh Kumar and Rajkumar of Oriental Bank of Commerce and a solo dance performance by Kitty Batra of Bank of Baroda.
