NAAC team consisting of two members — Prof SP Singh and Prof AN Vijayamurthy — assessed and accrediated the college on January 16 and 17.
Accreditation is a rigorous process where Institutional Eligibility for Quality Assessment (IEQA) is the first step, followed by self-study report submitted by the institution. It is after submission of this report that the peer team visit and assess the institution from all its aspects.
The peer team held interaction with principal management, member of faculty, present ‘batch’ students, alumni, the parents of the students, principals and staff of associated institutions and also critically analyzed curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities carried out by the institution.
The NAAC in its 47th EC, held on January 29, released the list of Grade and CGPA. BCM College was accrediated with CGPA of 3.10 out of 4 and the Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. As per the new methodology of assessing and accreditating the institutions, the highest grade provided by NAAC is ‘A’.
