Ahmedabad, January 31 A Passportof a Belgium national, Molen Berghs Mark, and five credit cards standing in his name were seized by Ishanpur police from five city-based youths on Thursday. The police also seized Rs 10,000 from the five youths.

The seizure was made during a routine check near Narol. The police also recovered a knife and a baseball bat from them.

Abdul Sheikh, Rafiq Sheikh (residents of Dariapur), Naseeruddin Sheikh (resident of Kalupur), Nasir Teli (resident of Vatva) and Yasin Mansuri (resident of Bapunagar) were arrested near Bombay Hotel on Narol Road, when they were passing by the area in an autorickshaw. While Mansuri was driving the vehicle, the other four were sitting as passengers, police said.

They were stopped by a team of Ishanpur police on grounds of suspicion. While checking the vehicle, the police found Mark’s passport, his credit cards and the cash from the autorickshaw. Though the five are yet to confess anything, police said that they were investigating all possible angles.

“At this point of time, we cannot rule out the possibility of a theft or even murder. Our investigations are on and facts will come up soon,” Ishanpur Police Inspector P J Trivedi said.
