‘Besides personality, soft skills vital for growth’

Chandigarh A seminar on ‘Selling Skills’ was organised by the Departments of Economics and Entrepreneurship Development at GGDSD College, Sector 32-C, on Wednesday.

Satinder Singh Ahluwalia, who teaches soft skills and communication at the India School of Business (ISB) and is also the Director of Punjab Micro Circuits Limited and Hawk Holidays Private Limied told the students about various skills they should possess to market their skills in the industry.

Ahluwalia told the students about the secret behind how an efficient salesperson can become a successful businessman.

He emphasised that the basic personality of an individual is important, but to possess soft skills are equally crucial for growth.

He even laid stress on “introspecting one’s sum character, besides focusing on one’s mission statement.”

Pointing out the golden rule, he said, “don’t do unto others what you don’t want others to do to you.”

Principal of the college, Dr A C Vaid and Head of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship Development, Nisha Angrish, were also present on the occasion
