Ludhiana, January 19 Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, organised its annual function here today.

Cabinet Minister Manoranjan Kalia was the chief guest of the occasion. The function started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dr Shweta, a former student of the school, who was guest of honour. It was followed by Saraswati Vandana, and many dances like Mayuri, Rajasthani etc. The tiny-tots of Shishu Vatika enthralled the audience with foot-tapping performances, with items like ‘Happiness’ and ‘Karam ki mahima’.

The message of sharing was conveyed through an English play. Other highlights of the programme were ‘Bharat darshan’ - a journey through our glorious past, and ‘Chak de India’, emphasising the importance of sports.

A student recited a poem in Vajpayee style. The function ended with the traditional dances, giddha and bhangra. The meritorious students of 2006-2007 were awarded prizes. Santosh Mehra, the Principal read the annual report of the school. Function came to end with vande matram.
