BJP man, independent candidate join Cong

Chandigarh Two members, one from the Bharatiya janata Party (BJP) and the other an independent, joined the Congress on Sunday. President of Kisan Morcha Darshan Singh (BJP) and Subhash, both directors of their respective market committees were welcomed by the president of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee B B Bahl. “It is the policy of the Congress that has brought the country laurels in every field,” said Bahl.

Union Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal said the policies of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi are relevant more than ever before for uplifting the aam aadmi and it is our duty to faithfully spread the message. The Congress is instrumental for bringing development to the nation, he added.

Prominent among those present at the function were former mayor Pardeep Chhabra, Bhupinder Badheri, Devinder Singh Babla and H S Lucky. The Congress workers also organised functions in ward numbers 10 and 21 that were addressed by Bansal and Bahl.
