Ludhiana BJP workers today sat on a dharna on Jagraon Bridge Chowk to protest against the alleged inaction of the police against PPP members. PPP candidate Amarjeet Madaan and workers of that party had allegedly beaten up BJP leader Sanjay Kapoor and two others on January 30, election day.

Sitting MLA and candidate from Ludhiana Central Satpal Gosain participated in the dharna.

The BJP workers stated that the police has not taken any action against the PPP leader and the culprits till date. Three BJP workers were badly injured in the incident, they claimed. The BJP workers also alleged that the PPP workers were luring voters with freebies.

Madaan, however, claimed that the fight was between BJP workers themselves, who were busy buying voters. Now they are raising bogus allegations against him and the PPP, he alleged.
