According to sources, they also met additional railway manager, Mumbai division, to raise commuters’ demands.

Quizzed on the issue, Vidhyadhar Kasvan, additional divisional railway manager, said, “They demanded that six trains should come and depart from platform numbers 1-3. These trains reach the station at 9.04 am, 9.10 am, 9.37 am, 9.49 am and 9.75 am. The Western Railway has agreed that four trains that come at 9.10 am, 9.25 am, 9.37 am and 9.49 am respectively will depart from platform numbers 1 to 3. But 9.57 am train will come at platform number 7. We can’t allocate platform number 7 for this train due to some operational problems. After some changes, we will consider whether we will able to allocate platform numbers 1 to 3 for 9.57 am train.”

Leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena Ram Naik, Subhash Raut, Ramdas Kadam, Subhash Desai on Monday addressed the public at Borivali west. After the meeting, they met western railway officials Addional Divisional Railway Manager Kaswan, Sr Divisional Operations Manager Kushal Singh, Sr Divisional commercial Manager Gopal Krishnan and Sr Divisional Engineer( estate) Dhananjay Singh. During the meeting, commuters’ demands were discussed, said sources.

The railways had planned for more exit points for the convenience of commuters, said Kasvan. “At the northern end of the platform number 7, existing exit point on road is crowded with hawkers and temporary shops. The railways has requested the civic authorities to remove these unauthorised shops,” he said.
