Kolkata BJP’s Tripura unit treasurer Shyamal Roy was run over by a local train near Bally station in Howrah district on Monday, said the party’s West Bengal unit president Rahul Sinha. 42-year-old Roy was part of an 11-member BJP team on way to attend the party’s National Council meeting at Indore beginning February 17. Sinha said that on arrival at the NSCBI airport from Agartala, the team members reached the Bally station to board the Indore-bound train. The BJP leader, he said, slipped from the train and was run over. After post mortem, the body will be sent to Agartala along with the other team members who cancelled their Indore visit.
