Surat Surat police have arrested two persons from Karnataka in connection with the Surat bombs conspiracy that had occurred immediately after the July 26 serial blasts in Ahmedabad. The two were arrested on a transfer warrant; and on Monday, they were produced before the designated court in Ahmedabad. The two have been arrested on charges of being party to the conspiracy to plant bombs in Surat.

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Naushad Mohammed Saiyed (25) and Ahmed Bawa (33) from Mangalore. A Surat Crime Branch inspector produced the two before the court. The police will again produce them before the court for seeking their remand.

Surat police had recovered over two dozen unexploded bombs from different parts of the city. During the course of their investigation, the police found that a technical defect in the bombs had prevented them from exploding.
