Manjit Saini, president of the organisation, said that there is need for more and more people to join hands with the NGO.
“Today our members donated and collected 51 units of blood. But a lot needs to be done for thalassaemic kids. And that can be possible when people from all walks of life donate blood during the donation camps that we are going to hold on the 10th of every month from now on,” said Rajesh Kapoor.
S M Sharma, Principal Arya College for Boys, inaugurated the camp held at the college premises. Fifty one bottles/units of blood donated in this camp, totalling about 17,850 ml.
B S Bath, CE PSEB, Ludhiana zone, appreciated the efforts of the members of the NGO and asked them to keep up with the service for the humanity. The blood donation team from DMCH had a full-fledged procedure kit for blood transfusion.
The members said that the 10th of every month will be observed by Salaam Zindagi as blood donation day. Harish Bedi, MLA, said that he too will join Salaam Zindagi Foundation for working for needy children. Among those who were present at the camp included Saurabh Kumar, Rajesh Kaul, Mandeep Rawat, Munish Sharma, Harminder and Ashish Dhanda.
