Blood donation camp held to mark Gurpurb

Ludhiana 375 units of blood donated to the blood banks of DMCH, CMCH, Oswal and Appollo hospitals

Salaam Zindagi Foundation celebrated the 342nd birthday of Guru Gobind Singh in a unique way by donating 375 units of blood to the blood banks of DMCH, CMCH, Oswal and Appollo hospitals at a blood donation camp held in Guru Nanak Bhawan here today.

The camp was inaugurated by DIG Ishwar Singh, who not only appreciated the efforts of Salaam Zindagi Foundation undertaken in the past but also thanked the foundation volunteers for motivating the masses for voluntary blood donation.

Harish Rai Dhanda, chief parliamentary secretary, was the guest of honour. Among other dignitaries present on the occasion were Bhagwan Singh, Dr Saroop Singh Alag, Dr Malkiat Singh (Principal, SCD Govt College), Dr Sandeep Puri (Medical Superintendent) DMCH, Tikka Dalip Singh, G S Chawla, Aseem Joshi and Dr K P Singh.

Sudhiar Moudgil, who donated blood blood for 100th time today was appreciated and presented with appreciation award by Dr Sandeep Puri.

Rajesh Kaul, Chairman Salaam Zindagi Foundation, has declared that such occasions will be also be celebrated in future so that youth of Punjab stayed away from the menace of drugs and contributed to the society.

On this occasion, Manjit Saini, president, Salaam Zindagi Foundation, thanked all the individual and organisations who participated in this mega event and made it successful.
