Blueline mows down conductor

New Delhi, February 5 In yet another accident involving the Blueline buses, a conductor of one Blueline bus was mowed down by another in Punjabi Bagh in west Delhi on Monday morning.

This is the eighth fatal accident by a Blueline bus in January.

Police officers said that the victim, Ravinder Singh, was waiting at Ram Pura CNG pump. Around 8.30 am, when he was crossing the road, a bus plying on route number 851 (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park to Uttam Nagar), hit him. The police said that Singh was rushed to Trauma Centre where he was declared brought dead.

According to the police, Singh worked as a conductor in bus number 923 and was a resident of Raghubir Enclave, Najafgarh. “We have registered a case of death due to rash and negligent driving against the driver, who is yet to be arrested. The bus has been impounded,” said a senior police officer.

In another accident, three passengers were injured when a Blueline bus and a dumper crashed into each other. Police said that the incident took place at Munim Ji ka Bhag in Narela on Tuesday afternoon at 3.30 pm. Naddem (15), Jugal Kishore (55) and Amit Kumar (16) were injured, who were given first aid and discharged. The driver has been arrested, officers added.
