Vadodara In an attempt to check the number of copying cases during the board exams, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has asked the District Education Officers (DEOs) to transfer the staff of those schools where more than 50 per cent of the students have been allotted their own school as examination centre. The DEOs are now in the process to identify such schools across the districts and carry out the reshuffling of the teachers before the exams. While in Rajkot, out of the 179 school buildings selected for conducting the exams, the district officials have identified 41 schools where students have been allotted their own school as exam centre. In Vadodara too, teachers from 35 schools have been shifted to other schools for inspections. “We have divided the schools into two categories –those having more that 50 percent of their students allotted their own school as examination hall and those with 30 to 50 percent of such students. This is a precautionary measure to avoid cheating incidents happening because of the same school teachers doing the supervisory work,” said R K Patel, District Education Officer, Vadodara. While the schools have been identified, the notices for transferring the teachers to other centres will be carried out in the next few days.
