BoM opens pension payment branch in city

Pune Chairman and managing director, Bank of Maharashtra Allen C A Pereira inaugurated the pension payment branch of the Bank at Pune on Thursday. This is the 1402nd branch of the bank. BoM is the first bank to open a specialised pension payment branch. Biometric ATM facility is also available at the branch.

Pereira also inaugurated the bank's 1401st branch at Katraj, Pune on Thursday.

Pereira interacted with the pensioners and asked them to take maximum benefit of this branch.

Pension payment branch is a CBS (Core Banking Solution) branch and is fully dedicated to the convenience of the pensioners. Pensioners have the option to operate their account at the pension payment branch in addition to the branch where they have their pension account. The branch has a lounge facility for providing comfort to pensioners wherein TV, magazines, newspapers would be available. The branch is situated in the heart of the city at bank's Bajirao road building.

Bank of Maharashtra has also recently started a Central Pension Processing Cell (CPPC) for centralised pension calculations to ensure timely payment of pension and related benefits. CPPC is also having a help desk to assist the pensioners.

Pereira said that the bank is also fully aware of its corporate social responsibility and has always been in fore front to help the needy.
