Bomb scare in Miller ganj school triggers panic

Ludhiana, January 7 Bomb scare disrupted classes in two schools in the Miller Ganj area on Monday.

Around 9.30 am, a call was received at Lal Bahadur Shastri Senior Secondary School, Miller Ganj near Dhuri line.

The caller said a bomb had been planted in the school. Sources said the staff member who took the call informed the principal, Anusuya Sharma. Police was called.

A police team, led by Division Number 2 SHO Surinder Mohan, searched the school campus. An Anti-Bomb squad also accompanied the team. The school premises were evacuated.

However, no bomb was found on the premises after the two-hour search, said police. School authorities declared Monday a holiday.

Meanwhile, at BCM School, Model Town, anxious parents kept calling up to say that there was word that bombs had been planted in some local schools.

School authorities informed police and campus was searched for more than two hours. No bomb was found.

The operation was supervised by Sarabha Nagar DSP Bhupinder Singh and Model Town SHO Waryam Singh.
