Ahmedabad In a hit-and-run incident, a BPO executive died and his colleague was seriously injured when a speeding vehicle hit their bike near Gujarat High Court on S G highway here on Sunday morning.

Twenty-six-year old Rajesh Ahuja, who was riding his motorcycle, died on the spot, while the pillion rider Vaishali Khandekar has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Civil Hospital in Asarwa.

“They had completed their night shifts in a BPO in the Satellite area and were heading towards their homes,” Sola police inspector M M Makwana, the investigating officer in the case, said.

Ahuja is a resident of Viramgam, while Khandekar is a native of Maharashtra. Her parents have been informed about the mishap, according to the police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ahuja and Pawan stayed in Priyadarshni Towers in Bodakdev area for the past few years.

“We are yet to record Khandekar’s statement.

We are waiting for doctors’ permission for this,” said Makwana.

Ahuja’s younger brother Pawan has lodged a complaint with the Sola police against an unidentified. The police are on the lookout for the driver of the speeding vehicle.
