Ahmedabad The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has launched BCFM (BSE Certification in Financial Markets) online certification course in Gujarati for the derivative market.

“As part of the BSE’s initiative to provide a forum to those aspiring to gain entry into the securities market, we decided to offer the course in Gujarati. This was done considering the huge participation from the state in stock markets,” BSE Chief Operating Officer M L Soneji told reporters after its launch on Saturday.

The course content in the regional language will help a large chunk of intermediaries from the state in acquiring knowledge about complex derivative products, Soneji said.

A capital market module (a course for equity markets) and a currency market module (a course for currency markets) being drafted in Gujarati by the BSE Training Institute, are likely to be launched by the March end.

“BSE has forwarded a proposal for opening of a special trading platform for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to SEBI, two months ago,” Soneji said, adding “but the nod of the market regulator is still awaited”.

“The required platform for MSMEs sector at BSE is ready. So, whenever SEBI comes out with the conditions for it, we will decide how to proceed,” he added.
